Clean
Prepare the surface by thoroughly sanding it and filling any holes with a filler. Clean the surface you will be painting. Do not use chemical cleaners; soapy water is sufficient. The metal primer can be applied directly to rusty surfaces.

Check
How are the conditions? Will it stay dry today? Make sure to paint when it is not colder than 8 degrees and not too humid. Consider the wind if you are painting outdoors.

Paint
Not sure about the color or effect? Test a small area first and wait for the result. If you know what you want, then get to work!
